UDC Announces UDC Award Recipients 

IMID brings together leading researchers, scientists, and companies to showcase the latest advancements shaping the future of display technology.

Universal Display Corporation (UDC) announced the recipients of the 10th annual UDC Awards at the 26th International Meeting on Information Display (IMID 2026) in Busan, Korea.

Organized by the Korean Information Display Society (KIDS) and the Society for Information Display (SID), IMID 2026 took place August 18-21 in Busan, South Korea.

This marks a decade of recognizing pioneering research and technical innovation in organic electronics and display technologies. 

IMID brings together leading researchers, scientists, and companies to showcase the latest advancements shaping the future of display technology. 

UDC continued its sponsorship of the conference in 2026, and Dr. Mike Weaver, Vice President and Deputy Chief Technology Officer of PHOLED R&D, delivered an invited presentation introducing OLEDX, the company’s breakthrough technology platform designed to unlock new levels of efficiency, image fidelity, and design flexibility for next-generation displays.

During the conference awards banquet on August 20, IMID recognized the 10-year milestone of UDC’s awards program, and SongGeun (SG) Lee, UDC Korea Deputy Director, presented this year’s UDC awards:

UDC Innovative Research Award in Organic Electronics & Display: Jae Min Jang, Dong Jin Shin (Sungkyunkwan University, Korea), Bin Liu, Raju Lampande, Sritoma Paul, Claire Arneson (University of Michigan, USA), Jun Yeob Lee (Sungkyunkwan Univ., Korea), and Stephen R. Forrest (University of Michigan, USA) for their paper “1.9-Fold Enhanced Device Lifetime in Blue PHOLEDs via Plexciton Engineering through Complex Refractive Index Control of Electron-Transporting Material.”

UDC Pioneering Technology Award in Organic Electronics & Display: Jae Sung Kim (Yonsei University & LG Display Co., Ltd., Korea), Ki Woo Kim (Yonsei University, Korea), Jung Chul Kim, Juhn Suk Yoo, Sang Yoon Park (LG Display Co., Ltd., Korea), and Hyun Jae Kim (Yonsei University, Korea) for their paper “A Low-Flicker LTPO AMOLED Pixel Using a Charge-Injection-Blocking Capacitor.”
